Read more →“Do you have an idea for a radio play or documentary? Dream Reality Radio Drama featuring on BBC Radio Leeds is offering 7 writers new to radio the chance to have their work aired. Selected writers will receive training and workshops over a 6 month period.
Send a 1 page drama or documentary outline of something you would like to write for radio and a sample of your work, maximum of 3 pages to us.”
The time spent training and in workshops will be documented here as the project progresses, so follow us on Twitter.
By mid 2015 we completed the recording of some incredible new work.
The selected writers are receiving training and taking part in interactive workshops over a 6 month period, with pieces of work to follow shortly, so keep on eye on our social networks.

Ruby Clarke is a writer/director based in York. Since completing her MA in Writing, Directing and Performance she has worked on many performances including The York Mystery Plays 2012, The Guinea Pig Club and the 2013 Waggon Plays as well as shorter Fringe pieces around York and festivals.

I grew up in 1950s Salford. The family home was a terraced house in a street that visitors nicknamed Coronation Street. I left school in 1966 and started work at a local textile mill as a laboratory assistant, testing the products made on the factory floor.

I loved writing as a teenager and feel I have now come full circle back to writing. I have been a community activist for the last 22years, volunteering for a number of charitable organisations, working in inter-faith, organising educational conferences and running parenting groups.
