SEKI LYNCH

Seki – like “say hi” with a ‘k’ – is a performance poet, writer and ex-bar manager for his sins. Originally from Leeds, he spent his 20s in London. He graduated with a BA in Creative Writing and English Literature from the University of Westminster under the tutelage of, among other fine teachers, Dr Michael Nath. Seki has written for print and digital publications, creative agencies, art and science events, museums and himself. Subjects range from music, hypnosis, motor neurone disease, samurai, mycelium, romance, travel, therapeutic psychedelics, depression, billionaires and, of course, booze.

Seki's first book, Ten Drinks that Changed the World is globally distributed by ACC Art Books. Seki's directorial debut saw him write and produce the stage performance, Barber B: A Play of Sorts, which premiered at Piranha Hair Studio and The Domino Club, Leeds in 2022. His first collection of poetry, a heart-shaped consciousness trail spanning over a decade, will be released in early 2023 by Wordville.

Wax:

How do we learn to let go? Bili Ruben, DJ and host of the radio show “Heart Howlers’, plays agony godfather to those that call in from all walks of life to grieve for those lost or left. On a late-night drive to a city where his unresolved past lingers, Frank tunes in. It’s been over some time now… But he can’t seem to get over Mols. As he listens to the show, Franks’ thoughts bubble up. He makes voice recordings trying to make sense of where it all went wrong. But will Molly ever hear them?

‘Wax’ is a playing of the ribbons of feelings between strangers. It suggests that there might be a way to healing and asks us if, even in our darkest moments, we need ever be truly alone.
