After trying her hand in teaching support, working in shops and working in a hospital, she recognises that writing is a passion that has stayed with her all her life! It was her partner Peter Aldred (who she also writes with) that inspired her to take it seriously this year and develop her skills.
She recently joined the voluntary group Script Yorkshire who regularly put on workshops in Leeds and the surrounding areas and so is hoping to cultivate her writing skills in many mediums. She has also been involved in restarting the Hull group which she helps facilitate and organise.
Joleen is currently writing a fantasy novel and is interested in writing for the radio and theatre. She also writes film and theatre show reviews for a magazine and website based in Leeds called The State of the Arts.
She has many hobbies such as practicing Kung Fu and cycling and she loves going to see a range of films at the cinema, especially science fiction and fantasy.
She is very excited to be on the Dream Reality Radio scheme and cannot wait to develop her documentary ideas with help and support from professionals.
